Tillage

Within the tillage tab, you can:

  • enter a tillage record (Input Form)
  • view a tillage report (Report)

Within the report, administrative users can edit and delete tillage records.

Before the tillage tab can be used, an administrative user must have entered:

  • fields
  • tractor(s)
  • tools (tillage implements)

Note that tillage activities entered in cover crop seeding and incorporation records appear in tillage reports.

Input Form

To use the input form:

  • select the tillage date
  • select the tractor used
  • select the tool used
  • use the "Add Field" button to add field to be tilled. For each field:
    • select the field
    • select the number of tillage passes over the field
    • select the percentage of the field to be tilled
    • select the minutes spent in the field
    • check the "Comments" box if the comments entered later in the form should be included in the tillage record for this field
  • enter any comments
  • click "Submit"
  • confirm data correctness by clicking "OK", or "Cancel" to modify any aspect of the tillage record

Report

To run a tillage report:

  • select a date range
  • select a field (or All)
  • click "Submit"
  • FARMDATA will then display a table of all tillage records that satisfy the selected parameters, along with the total number of tillage passes, the average number of tillage passes per record, the total minutes spent on tillage and the average minutes per tillage record. Note that you can find these totals and averages for a particular field by selecting that field.
  • administrative users can edit and delete tillage records

    • to delete a tillage record, click the "Delete" button next to that record
    • to edit a tillage record:

      • click the "Edit" button next to that record
      • in the resulting page, modify an aspect of the record that needs to be updated
      • click "Update Record"e records
  • if desired, use the "Download Report" button to download the report as a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file that can be opened as a spreadsheet.
