When i'm trying to use FaceTrackNoIR i press start, webcam starts showing image.. but the engine state on FaceAPI is stuck at initializing. After quite a while (random moments) a windows sound plays and the tracker starts tracking, but it's not tracking correctly.
After this has happened and i try to stop and start the tracking it plays the windows sound the moment i press the start button and when the camera image shows it doesnt show any tracking. It's almost like it scans the image before it shows :s
I'm hoping you guys know what the problem is, i would very much appreciate any help.

This is the exact same problem I am having and this is all my video widget shows: http://puu.sh/dQ3c5/c6e4613054.png
Hope I can fix this. Seems like it would be great for gaming.
Edit:
Forgot to say that my camera is a HP Truevision HD built into my laptop.

No I haven't fixed it yet, but I went through the drivers and updated them. As of now I got the program to work properly with a separate webcam that I found lying around. Considering that the external webcam functions properly I guessing the same as you. Thanks for trying to help though.

I'm too having issues with this, the demo is the same
Logitech Quickcam Fusion (with the windows update driver version, as on Win7)
When loading the demo, webcam light just flashes once then program dies and taskbar states "Error"..... Driver problem? Because they're not Logitech's?

Hey xray, just ran across this thread and see that your original post is nearly two years old so it's most likely late, but here is maybe the answer to the first part of your post saying "...i press start, webcam starts showing image.. but the engine state on FaceAPI is stuck at initializing. After quite a while (random moments) a windows sound plays and the tracker starts tracking...", When this happens for me, it is generally most often due to the lighting in the room (example= not enough light on your face, or too much light to the left, or right, or to the back of you).
Now as far as the last half of your first paragraph saying "...and the tracker starts tracking, but it's not tracking correctly.", this is in my experience normal behavior until you re-center your view. I am currently away from my main computer at the moment to direct you in the steps to create shortcut keys for this, but you will need to do this to center your view.

Are you wearing glasses?
Yes, but i also tried without with no difference.
It seems like faceAPI cannot find your face correctly, so it takes too long to initialise. What kind of web-cam do you have? And is the lighting OK?
You could try the faceAPI demo from SeeingMachines first, to see if that works OK.

Hi Ninja,
Sorry for my tardy reply... Have you fixed it yet?
Sounds like a driver and/or codec problem to me.
