Not sure if right forum, I use the faceAPI Tracker but also FreeTrack 2.0 and Accela Filter...

Why do I only get 15 fps in FaceTrackNoIR ?
Any setting how I can get more out of it?

Exposure setting for camera. For one, disable the idiotic 'RightLight' thing in the camera panel.

    Hi Daniel,

Some web-cams just don't give much. Sometimes a new driver will help, but most of the times I advise using a PS3Eye. It's cheap and does the job right.

I have a PS3 Eye but FaceAPI seems to be limiting the fps to ~50fps

I had a similar problem with my Creative Live! Cam Sync. I went into Settings under faceAPI then Camera, Exposure Mode, and switched it from Auto to Sunlight. Now I'm getting my camera's max fps. Unfortunately I have to do this every time. Is there any way to save that Sunlight setting?

No, because Windows doesn't expose the property to third-party software.

In fact, doing anything DShow-related is a major pain in the nether region. Just displaying the camera settings is, like, hundreds of boilerplate lines.

Either way it's outside the scope of the project.

Agree with Wim 100%, PS3 Eye is both affordable and performant, as opposed to Logitech/Creative trash.

Old topic, but I've noticed that the FaceAPI plugin automatically sets the Logitech Webcam Software to AutoExposure, regardless if you've previously set it manually.

After you open FaceTrackNoIR (and FaceAPI starts as a result) open the LWS control panel and use a combination of lowering the exposure and raising the gain. This will give higher FPS with the same accuracy in tracking.
