I downloaded and ran the Seeing Machines demo.It installs with no errors. When I run it I can see my face moving but I get no yellow lined delineating my eyes, nose, mouth.
I installed FaceTrackNoIR V1.3,then patched to V1.5 and the hot fix.I got no install errors.I get no errors when I run FaceTrackNoIR.However under Face API settings the engine state says initializing and never changes.I can also see my face moving but get no yellow lines and no values below the picture.
I am running an old Pentium D 805 CPU(overclocked to 3.7 GHZ),Asus P5WD2-E Premium,Windows 7 x64,4 gigs of ram,PS3Eye.
I have tried both the Over Flanders Fields and the Default profiles without success.
So in summary,I get no install or run errors. It just is not working. It stays on initializing.

It seems the faceAPI is trying to find your face, but cannot 'lock on'. Have you checked the CPU-load, while it's initializing?
Do you perhaps wear glasses?
It's very important to have good lighting. An indirect light source above/behind the monitor seems to work best (for me)..

I do not wear glasses.I have tried during the day and can see the whole room behind me.The CPU usage jumps around. From a few percent to 50%.
I will try the light source from behind the monitor.
The PS3 Eye is my first webcam so I did not know what to expect.Although I can see the whole room behind me and make out all the details the video is grainy and in black and white.
After looking around a little on the web I get the impression it should be in color and not grainy.
Maybe I have some other problem.I did not find anyone else on the web posting my problem.
Maybe the driver is not installed correctly or I need some other Windows 7 x64 component.Or some video codec.

OK! So when you see the outline, you also get movement in-game? That's good.
As for the 60 fps: your PS3Eye will go up to 50fps if you have the cleye.config file in-place. But: that will even burden your CPU more! I think the higher fps will not outweigh the higher CPU-load.
You could check the sas1946 forum to see if others have it running smoothly with an 'older' CPU…

Well, I have a PS3Eye myself: it does show a black/white image, but certainly not grainy.
Do you use the CodeLaboratories driver?
I don't think you need a video-codec or anything: if you see the image in FaceTrackNoIR, you're almost there!
I played around with some lighting.I got the yellow face outline to show, sometimes. An fps of 25-30.CPU usage 22-39%,memory 150 -188 megs.
The CPU usage seems very high. The 805D is a dual core but not a Core 2 Duo.It came out before those.
I guess now I just need to play around some more with the light and adjust the sensitivity to movement and the response curves.
I saw somewhere that you could go to 60 fps.Would that smooth out the response? It seems a little jerky. But that might be the high CPU usage.
I am trying to get it to work smoothly with IL2:Cliffs Of Dover.(which is an fps hog in itself)
Thank you for the lighting suggestion.
