Haven't we answered these a few times before?:-)

I'll go through them this week.  Should we send them to you?

Yes,

Kenneth (wtf dragon) just asked me the other day about whether we got the questions. I can't answer most of the questions that are about the programming side of Exult.
If more people want to answer them, let's hear it so we can each give our opinion.
I'm copying the questions to this mail directly.

Exult Interview

Exult has been one of the most ambitious and most successful Ultima projects.  Why don’t you tell us a bit about yourselves, and how you originally became involved with Exult?

I think I first noticed the project around v. 0.40 back in early 2000.  How did Exult start? What was the original inspiration for the project and how did it progress?

Ultima VII is often heralded as the best of the series.  What were your personal experiences with Ultima, and specifically Ultima VII, before joining the project?

These days, Ultima VII is quite playable using Dosbox, but many people still love Exult.  What makes Exult so special?

What challenges are unique to reengineering a 20 year old PC game with an unusual memory manager for modern systems?

What are some of the more difficult programming challenges Exult has overcome?

What features of Exult and Exult Studio are you most proud of?

What are some of your disappointments with Exult and Exult Studio?

If you were to start this project over again, is there anything you would have done differently?

How do you feel about the projects currently using Exult Studio?

Development has slowed quite a bit during the past few years.  Are there any future plans for Exult, or has the project reached completion?

Any hope we’ll see a release of Pentagram some day?

Many gamers uphold Ultima VII as the peak of the Ultima series, and it’s one of the top games on GoG.com.  Why is Ultima VII still so popular after all these years?

Anything else?

Hey Marzo, haven't heard back from you for a few weeks.  Just

Sorry about the slow responses.  I'm in the process of

interviewing

and trying to finish up my licensing exams, so super busy.  Pass

this

article on to everyone else who might be interested.  I look

forward

  to seeing the responses.

Cool.  Sorry about the late reply, as I was busy with job

interviews.

I'll send out some interview questions in the next few

days.

Just checking back with you to see if there has been

any

 interest in

  the interview.

Ah, sorry; I gave some time so everyone had a chance

to reply

and it ended up slipping my mind. People that have replied are: Dominus

(yes),

Jeff (yes), Artaxerxes (doesn't know if he qualifies, as he

believes he has

done "so little"), Tristan (which actually didn't say if

he was

interested, he just made a comment about Artaxerxes' reply) and

Phillip

 (similar to Artaxerxes).

Given how much time it has been, I think everyone that

was

 going to reply has replied.

Although to be sure, I just asked wjp, Colourless and

Kirben in

IRC (still waiting a reply, different timezones and all).
