I want to be able to set shape size up to at least chunk size (16x16). That allows me to properly use things like psudochunks (flat images of chunks used as shapes instead) and that nice flaming pentagram from Ultima 8.

The engine seems pretty capable of handling a larger shape size setting than the maximum currently allowed (8x8x7). I have no problems with the 16x16 size shapes other than what is caused by not having the shape set to the right size (improper display and problems placing objects on it). I think there would be very minor graphic problems like you see when sailing a ship. These shouldn't happen with stationary items which would be the vast majority of things using a higher shape size.

I know the z height max seems to be 15 for tile placement and the Avatar can walk up to as high as 14 z. I can see some reasons for its limitation. I don't need it to be higher, but it could probably be raised a little too.

    Out of curiosity: what do you have against breaking "pseudo-chunks" into smaller size (8x8) frames of the same shape?

    Well the amount of shapes that need to be made and setup are quadrupled. That means dozens of shapes need to be divided correctly into 4 sections (don't know an easy way to do this) and then they have to be matched up properly into a chunk. It probably makes the time required to make a chunk 5-10 times longer for me.
