Anders, you write:

Yes, unfortunately there have been a lot of changes to the ext2 code
between 2.3.99 and 2.4.0-test11, despite the small change in version
numbers. This is _despite_ Ted Ts'o, Alan Cox, and Linus telling me
that "ext2 is too important to change at this late stage in kernel
code freeze, please wait until 2.5" and the fact that the ext2online
code only is only used during mounting and when resize is done, unlike
the other filesystem corrupting changes in recent 2.4 kernels.

Yes, I think that the 2.4.0 ext2 changes have finally slowed down a bit
and I will begin working on a new 2.4 patch. Unfortunately, the locking
for ext2 has totally changed and I'm sure this will give me a lot of
grief. It's high on my to-do list, so it may even be available in the
next week or so, but since I haven't run a 2.4 kernel since 2.3.99, I
may have other problems to work out first.
Cheers, Andreas
