I just tried this on Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5), after a reboot, my computer crashed.  Now, it will not recognize my external encased 3.5" Harddrive... any help on how to restore my previous setting?

Try opening the original .dmg file you installed with and run the uninstall command - this should (in theory) get you back to your previous setup.

Should it work with Leopard? I installed  Ext2fs 1.4d4 after installing leopard and now it it sees my ext3 drive in the preferences but it says timeout with error 0x3C.
