I copy some folders with files from an Windows 7 NTFS formatted drive to an Ext3 partition using Windows Explorer (by drag and drop). The Ext3 partition is formatted using Parted Magic, with the default codepage (if that's relevant). Some files have the characters like '´' (b4 in hex, 180 in decimal) in their names. The copying occurs, and there are some files copied to the ext3 partition. No error is raised. Then, I see, in Windows Explorer, that are apparently 2-3 files having the same name for each file containing that 'special' character. They might have not the right content because I can't see the original content in any application I have tried (notepad, acdsee). They can be deleted though. I can create, for instance, a text file containing that character in name, directly on the ext3 partition. I can write to it and it preserves the changes correctly.
I have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, on an i7 machine. I have ext2fsd 0.48 (which is the latest now).
