Perhaps this is something like a Virtual Machine, except compiled,

In addition, couldn't we use the same kind of technique for building

I/O library, which maps perfectly to the instruction sets dealing
with I/O?
Maybe this is nonsense ... don't worry, just tell me, I have no real
idea if
it would work - it won't hurt my feelings. :-)
