Express4J Release 8 Update 2 (Finally) Released

Express4J is a lightweight UI framework based on Java and XML. Unlike other user interface frameworks, it provides its own set of nice-looking and easy-to-use widgets that is visually "between" Vista and OS X (more OS X though ;-). The major focus of release 8 is on UI control speed and usability.

I have to admit that we have let this project slide a little bit, since our "core" project (Onepoint Project) needed all our attention. However, we have now updated the binary and source distributions to be up-to-speed with the associated "opproject" project; so you can now also compile the Express4J-part from source if you want to.... read more

Express4J 07 Update 1 released

The new release of Express4J fixes a lot of smaller usability and rendering problems in the various components.

Express4J was designed to provide a very lightweight, browser-like pure Java environment allowing to build highly interactive user interfaces for applets and stand-alone applications alike. It is mainly used as the UI foundation for Onepoint Project (opproject), an open source project leadership tool which is also available on Sourceforge.... read more

Express4J: New Project Website & Tutorial

Express4J was designed to provide a very lightweight, browser-like pure Java environment allowing to build highly interactive user interfaces for applets and stand-alone applications alike.

We have now launched a first project website outlining our major design goals and released a first version of the Express4J tutorial providing you with a first insight on how to write applications or applets using our framework.... read more
