Maintenance release with some performance improvements and enhancements thrown in :o)

It seems the wrong way to go to have downloads hosted not at sourceforge, so I have moved the CVS and downloads to the extremly impressive service that is offered here at sourceforge. There have been on average 3 downloads a day, and a 0% activity doesn't really do this script justice...
