I just got one of these units on eBay; $6. Where do I start from here? I have an LTSP (4.0?) server upstairs, so I know it's working, since there's a Jammin 125 on it. I have no PROM-tools...not since about 1985. What will I need?

Well, I've pulled down my LTSP box in favor of 'hybrid' machines which rely on a central LDAP authentication and a couple of NFS'd drives. It's _extremely_ effective and a lot easier to admin.
Can I get this box to just simply boot (whether Linux or otherwise) and get it to use any machine's GDM? I guess the question is, if I find a power supply for it, will it work like an X terminal, or will it require something more?

Thats a great price. You will need to provide a keybaord, mouse, monitor, and an ethernet connection.
You have only one option, to boot the explora with NCDware, then connect to xdm running on your LTSP box.
Getting linux running directly on the explora is not functional yet.
