Hi,

You can install eXist 6 as is mentioned in
http://exist-db.org/exist/apps/doc/basic-installation. As to the JVM, I
tested on my machine, with Ubuntu 20.04.6, and openjdk 11.0.20.1
2023-08-24, and eXist installed just fine. I do not know if it is working
with Java 12+ (see https://github.com/eXist-db/exist/issues/3375).
