Gary, it might interest you that i'm currently developing a forms alternative to be used with eXist-db. It's a purely client-side implementation in web components that follows the lines of XForms 2.0. The intend is to replace betterFORM functionally as this was abandoned and is no longer available. However we still have long-term projects relying on XForms that need a perspective in the longer run. As i was responsible for betterFORM i felt the need to come up with a replacement. It provides the ability to work with your XML on the client-side by using the great fontoXPath library with XPath/XQuery 3.x support.
