Hi Wolfgang, Yes, that was the case - I had tried to install 2.0RC2 over 2.0RC(1). Deleting it then installing RC2 succeeded. Odd that the previous version interfered with installing the new version, but not a big deal - although when I see warnings like, "Are you sure you want to install in /Applications/eXist-db? It will overwrite the data in that directory!" I assumed the installer would first wipe that directory, no? I have Mac OS X 10.8.2 with Java 1.7.0_09. To be sure, I just downloaded the installer from Sourceforge instead of using my local one: it works as expected.
