We actually ran into a situation in the past couple of days where it would have been advantageous for us to pass an XML node as a parameter to a background task script. Fortunately, we had a workaround in this specific scenario where a simple string was sufficient, but we can foresee a scenario in the future where this might be impractical as a solution. Also, with Loren's suggestion, *any* arbitrary type could be passed as a parameter, just like with a regular XQuery function. More flexibility is always good (within reason, of course).
