My impression is that the security backend has matured (Dmitryi, Adam,
please correct me if I'm wrong)  and has reached a stable state again.
Apart from this, I was fighting to make sure that no new features are
added to eXist core while it is stabilizing - and I think I was
successful. Changes in extension modules which you can disable are not
as critical.

The general idea was to branch of trunk once we agree it is feature
complete and stabilize it towards a 1.6 release.
