[Exist-development] Compiling XQueries?

I know that internally, we compile XQueries and then cache them, prior to execution.

How difficult/involved would it be to expose the compile process, so that I could compile XQueries
ahead of time (say using an appropriate Ant task), and store/execute the pre-compiled XQueries
in/from the DB?
