One little > mistake and nothing works and there is no feedback. Well, there's obviously a bug in the indexer, which was reported recently and leads to incomplete Lucene indexes. Maybe this is the issue you have hit... Anyway, at indexing time I don't really see how to provide more feedback without producing a huge log. All errors and exceptions from Lucene would be reported. If your index definition does not match any nodes in the data you store, no index will be created, but the indexer cannot know if this is on purpose or not. Joe's excellent index browser in trunk should really provide most of the information you need to determine if the indexes were created as you thought: http://localhost:8080/exist/admin/admin.xql?panel=indexes You can also use standard Lucene tools like luke to analyze the contents of your indexes. Normally, it should not be necessary to do a manual reindex once you have your indexes defined correctly in collection.xconf. Wolfgang |
