Ok, back to the begin situation: one of the problems is... that trunk
already contained code that depends on 9.2 (jim's extensions). Because of
re-introducing 9.1 there is a regression in that code.

so with 9.1 ... either better forms works (9.1 based)  or jim's extensions
(9.2) based. All our download scripts downloaded 9.2 into lib/user ... which
yielded in a workable situation.

The new situation is significant different....
