I was not aware of this, from my perspective, eXist-db ships with 9.1
today! If and when 9.2 resolves the class loader bug we will consider
updating to 9.2.

So developing for 9.1 today is fine IMHO, lets stop panicking about
9.2 until the next release with the fix comes out.

Absolutely, having used Chiba in the past and not being familiar with
the betterForm code base I have to apologise as I was not aware of the
dependency on specific Saxon versions.
