I haven't used Adium's IRC support - I guess it's beta only at this
point.  But the IRC client I have used on OS X is Colloquy -
http://colloquy.info/.  They have an iPhone app too ($1.99).

Wolfgang - I'm unable to use IRC at work, so you won't see me on IRC
often.  But I mostly use the mailing list anyway, which I assume is
still an equally preferred means of communicating?
