Not to say I don't like NXDSM, but in the spirit of making a short, pronounceable, plain English description how about: net-edit This conveys what sounds to me like the core of this feature: you're editing a (remote) document (locally), while maintaining the network link so the document can be saved back to the remote server. I considered "net-store", but this sounds like webdav or dropbox; I considered "remote-doc-edit", but 3 words is a little long. My 2 cents!
