The reason I ask is that it would be a useful thing to be able to force a checkpoint to happen after a huge bulk store operation, thus guaranteeing that the database is in a good state and fully optimized before you attempt a shutdown. If there isn't such a method, do you think that it would be useful to add an XQuery function (maybe in the system namespece) or this capability to the admin (web and java) clients? If so, then I'ld be happy to add this capability, if you point me in the general direction of how to initiate a checkpoint (eg, what class/method to call in Java).
