I have been doing some thinking about subversion and eXist.
I am proposing to modify my XmlSync program as follows:
1) Make the software look more like TortoiseSvn and less like GoodSync
(make syncing between eXist and subversion working copy transparent to
2) Leverage Wolfgang's versioning extension to resolve the current
uncertainties about which copy has been modified (eXist, working copy or
3) Incorporate functionality into eXist client.
The software will maintain its own private working copy for each
collection under revision control. It will also maintain
a document on eXist that relates eXist revision numbers to subversion
revision numbers (say /db/svn/versions.xml).
Any subversion function will be achieved with a mixture of
- syncing wc and eXist
- standard subversion operations (SvnKit)
- updating versions document
Does this seem sensible?
Wolfgang, what is the current status of the Versioning Extension? Is
there any documentation?
