I have read a number of threads on working with the output-size-limit either
in the conf.xml or in the xQuery itself.
In my previous thread I tried to use:
declare option exist:output-size-limit "size-hint";
But when the limit was exceeded the query threw an error.
Is there a way to use this value and return the results before the limit is
I don't want to kill the query, I want to limit the XML fragments to a
particular size and return them when that limit is reached.
I would like to control the amount of fragments returned not just limit them
or throw an error.
this attribute limits the size of XML fragments constructed
using XQuery, and thus sets the maximum amount of main
query is allowed to use. This limit is expressed as the
number of nodes allowed for an in-memory DOM tree. The
of this option is to avoid memory shortages on the server in
cases where users are allowed to run queries that produce
large output fragments.
