Evgeny, There is something that I have learned about the names in English speaking world. If people can say it and speak about it, then it has much beter chance of taking off. Before AJAX was named with a simple, short word that everybody can pronounce then it started to exist in poeple's minds. I will strongly recommend not to use a name made mainly of *consonants*because it is *non-pronounsable* and if people may stay away of it just for this simple reason. On other hand if you have vowels in the name and it is a word that one can shout then it has much better chances for adoption. Just think about two developers talking - "What have you been working on recently?" "It is a nice thing but I just can't say its name X#$!?&~." "How can I find it?" "Easy just search for X#$!?&~. Actually I think it was X#5$!?&~, or was it X#"£$!?&~ I can't remember..." I hope this will help. Not to say I don't like NXDSM, but in the spirit of making a short, pronounceable, plain English description how about: net-edit This conveys what sounds to me like the core of this feature: you're editing a (remote) document (locally), while maintaining the network link so the document can be saved back to the remote server. I considered "net-store", but this sounds like webdav or dropbox; I considered "remote-doc-edit", but 3 words is a little long. My 2 cents!
