What's the best way to migrate an existing database?

That is, when you bring up the revised eXist with the new structural index, do you need to delete the elements.dbx file
first?  Or can you just leave the whole database intact and just fire off a reindex job?

Just running a reindex is probably ok. elements.dbx is replaced by
structure.dbx, so you can delete the old file after reindexing.

But please note that there will be more changes coming today, which
will again change the binary format. I recommend to wait until
tomorrow.

OK...thanks...I'll be sure to run it on some test servers before I try it on a production database.

How stable do you think these changes are, Wolfgang?

They are as stable as I could get them. Junit tests, XQuery test suite
and performance tests run without issues. I thus decided it's time to
move everything into trunk.

I will do some more commits today to clean up the index and make it a
bit smaller. After the weekend, we should be ready for some serious
testing.

Sounds reasonable to me. I'm looking forward to kicking the tires...
