#5 "holy file name" scheme
I'm not sure if this projetk is still up... but Imade a try at least ;)
Long time ago I started a similar projekt, with the hope of the same result as exiflow...
now I need some customization and further tweaks on my solution, and now I was gave another try to exiflow her are my findings:
I had some differencies arount the renaming concepts... If the "holy file name" scheme is writed to stone stop reading now.
If not, here are my suggestions:
* artist_initials should be optional
I do not need them at all. But If i do, 2 characters are not enough for it, because using a nick is more meaningful than a non unique 2 string...
* cam_id should be more relaxed.
I'm usig it like: D70_02 where 02 is the extra part ot original numbers.
So 3 characters are not enough at all.
* revisions
I think the master file (the original one) should not contain any version numbers in it. Of course the further modifications have to contain a revision number, but its shoul be configurable just like cam_id, or artist.
Its easy to achieve by initializing an initial_revision variable...
Off course these changes may brake your "holy file name scheme" - but makes this tool more customizable :)
Not sure if those changes are breaking other functions or not, I just mede the (rough) changes locally, and - at least for me - file renaming is working fine.
