Just a little heads-up. I've been in touch with the author of the VICS-II visualisation software (http://www.geocities.jp/kmo_mma/crystal/en/vics.html) about getting this software to support the exciting GEOMETRY.OUT file. Today I received an email from him which stated that in the near future this will be implemented.

Got an email that vesta (latest incarnation of what used to be vics-II) now supports geometry.out files
