There has traditionally been interest in a variety of different XML formats (KML, GCCS Overlay, DRX, etc.). As all such XML formats have many processing things in common (i.e. they all will use the DOM, should be reversible, can in theory be transformed, etc.) rather than individually write each separate format, we will add an internal XML Framework that will support an internal schema, which can then be transformed as necessary.

My current thinking is that a limited schema (URI: http://www.mission-planning.com/excel2fv/2\) will contains extensions required to support round-trip conversions and specification of elements that don't correspond well in other grammars (e.g. Bullseye). For a base grammar, I'm leaning towards the Draw file XML format.

Added this entry for tracking purposes and will update as development progresses.
