New release on The sourceforge site: Evolved OpenOffice 0.8-9 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Contains Bug fixes for: ----------------------- Problem with the QuickStart Setup. --- I think that this will finally work :) Problem Menus entries linking to "webclient-gnome" --- Test this please Problem building evolved-ooqstart srpm --- Tested and working New features: ----------------------- "Create Desktop Icons" now places the icons neatly instead of randomly. Evolved Database 0.1-1 ----------------------------------------------------------------- I've released first version evolved-database. It runs along the same lines as the pdf here: http://www.unixodbc.org/doc/OOoMySQL.pdf , except that the is no manual configuration involved. There are two gooey tools in the utils package: one for configureing the mySQL databases, and one for adding MySQL databases to the ODBC setup. If anyone adventurous wants to give it a try make sure you have a MySQL server set up on you pc or network. And for the moment there is no help info so you will need to be familiar with how the setup is ment to work as described in the pdf. The amount of fatal bugs are decreasing rapidly which is nice but at the same time I'm sure that there are some that need addressing. I'm going to be away from friday afternoon til sunday afternoon - this means that if you want a feature changed or bug fixed before next monday night then you need to post here before 7pm on Thursday. Ok, Comming soon(ie. next week) in Evolved OpenOffice: Intelligent src.rpm compling script ----------------------------------- The current src.rpm script just compiles and installs evolvedoo. The new one will do this but it will also create the corresponding rpms and tar and gz them into the install directory and then politely ask the user to, if at all possible, send me the tar.gz so that I can support rpms for their distro. Evolved-Database ---------------- Instired by a request I'm going to automate the creation and configuration of the MySQL->unixODBC->OpenOffice.org system as descripted here: http://www.unixodbc.org/doc/OOoMySQL.pdf Evovled-PDF ----------- The howto create a pdf printer will be replace by and rpm that will do this automagically. Evolved-cc ---------- I'm going to do a major restructure of the menus. Evolved-installer ----------------- I'm thinking about creating an installer that will make it much easier to install OpenOffice.org - just tell it where the tar.gz is extracted and give it the root password and your away. So, yeah there will be a lot of beta testing for those interested. Did you notice: The new icons?
