I haven't changed the partitions for quite some time and many many versions of the LVM have had a chance to create this. Personally, I could live with a message like "your PV metatdata is crap, please check". Someone less cautious my have just mkfsed over it... > Before you had deleted the LVs from your second disk, do you remember what > error messages you were seeing at boot time? Below is the the relevant part of boot.msg running the same kernel 2.4.17-XFS: The evmsEngine.log of evms_pvscan is attached. I'll try to recreate the old LVs later. ...Juergen <6>--evms: EVMS v0.9.0 initializing .... info level(6). <6>--evms: NULL return from devfs_mk_dir() for "evms" <6>--evms: Is devfs enabled? <6>--ldev_mgr: found IDE major : 22 - searching for disks <6>--ldev_mgr: added logical disk(hdc) for physical disk(22,0,hdc), blocksize(1024) <6>--ldev_mgr: found IDE major : 3 - searching for disks <6>--ldev_mgr: added logical disk(hda) for physical disk(3,0,hda), blocksize(1024) <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hdc1'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hdc2'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hdc3'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hdc5'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hdc6'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hdc7'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hda1'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hda5'. <6>--dos_part: creating segment 'hda6'. <6>--lvm: Discovered volume group daten <6>--lvm: PV hdc5 added to Group daten <6>--lvm: PV hdc6 is unassigned.
