EVMS is extremely useful for volume mapping
management in situations where deveice names are
subject to change.
JFFS2 is a very useful file system for flash devices.
A significant issue with flash devices is that the
device name can be different on any machine you boot
FlashLinux overcomes this with scripts but it isn't
to my liking since its hard-coded for a specific
partition configuration. This can be compensated
for, but I have a better solution, use EVMS.
I've converted JFFS2 volumes to EVMS and they work,
they mount, read, write, etc, but as soon as I boot
from one, the entire volume is erased.
I don't know if the issue is resulting from an
incompatability or a problem in my initrd, but I
would like to see JFFS2 officially or unofficially
