    Got eviacam 1.5 compiled and running on an Ubuntu 10.04 using the debug mode and tried to make it work with a Creative Live! Cam Video IM (VF0350). lsusb gives me the following entry:

    $ lsusb
    ...
    Bus 002 Device 003: ID 041e:4067 Creative Technology, Ltd
    ...
    $

    and it works like a charm with cheese and mplayer. When running eviacam, the camera gets recognized but then it gives me the following error after I select it:

    I'm not sure if the image format is the problem here (Jpeg seems like a fairly common format to support unless its lossy nature makes it unsuitable for the job). Anyway is there a solution to this that doesn't imply buying a new webcam? Thanks in advance.

    JPEG support has not been added, yet. Of course, lossless formats are preferred, but JPEG will do the job also. You could try to add it yourself or use CCameraCV class instead of CCameraV4L2 to access the camera. In any case add a Bug to the tracker.
