EVE Online IGB CMS / News: Recent posts

The project is progressing quite nicely. I'm already using it for my own corp as a kind of alpha test.

I've polished the user management and added a menu editor where the site admin can link various parts of the system together. I've also made most site settings (site title, activation method, session lifetime, etc) configurable over the web backend.

I am now working on a poll system and have already encountered something I have to change in the forum system. The forum system currently uses the serverside timezone. I'm gonna change the displayed times to be permanently in GMT / EVE-time.... read more

I have abandoned the idea to create the neat and clean project I had in mind on the first go. I wasn't getting ahead fast enough to be satisfied.

I've decided to implement a less versatile solution and stay clear of all the nice things like oop and smarty and the overhead they incur. And it's getting ahead quite nicely. I've already completed a simple forum and article system, the functions to register, login and change one's password. I haven't gotten around to do much yet but the work is progressing. I have incorporated the use of Smarty and am currently doing the groundwork for the module system.

The last few weeks were very busy but I have finally figured out enough of the design to start implementing a prototype version. Although it doesn't seem to get much better time-wise I am planning to continue working on the project and will provide regular news about my progress. I'm thinking bi-weekly (*maybe* weekly) news updates.

Once I have developed the prototype to a point where It can serve as a limited demo, I might consider taking on additional devs.... read more
