What is ev3Servo?

This project's aim is to build a servo controller driver model that supports any RC servo motor with "1500 µS neutral" specification. The driver is specifically written for the NXTServo-v3 8 channel servo controller module from mindsensors.com, which allows you to control speed and position of up to 8 RC servo motors. The implementation will be designed for the usage with leJOS.

What about 1500 µS neutral?

RC servo motors are controlled with pulse width modulation (PWM). The position of the servo arm can be manipulated with the width of the pulse. Common is a 50 Hertz Signal (20 ms period length), in range of 500 µs (left stop) and 2500 µs (right stop), having the neutral position at 1500 µs. See Wikipedia for more detailed information.

What about leJOS?

leJOS allows you to run your own Java Applications on the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 Brick.
