Eudora mangles the content type of messages (I'm
pretty sure it ignores content type and relies instead on
wrapping the message body with <x-html> or <x-
flowed> tags), and of course we all know how it fumbles
attachments. The script attached will correct the
content type of messages which have x-flowed, html, or
x-html tags, will add a content type of text/plain if there
is no content type at all, and will convert "attachment
included" annotations into multipart mime messages if it
can find the attachment in the Attachments or
Embedded folders.
TO run it, invoke it as
perl cvt-attach.pl -a AttachDir -e EmbeddedDir
MailboxFile
and it will write the converted mailbox file to standard
out. Important: run this AFTER running Eudora2Unix, not
before!
