OK, so we've been using etherboot to boot our CPU cards by placing it on small/cheap compact flash cards which show up as IDE devices. The change which removed boot1a.s has therefore introduced a bit of a problem for me. The lilo option is rather convoluted and a simple "make 1, dd the rest" solution isn't an option as the flash cards we use may have an arbitrary disk geometry. If I were to produce a hard drive boot prefix without the size limitations of boot1a.s, would there be any interest in having another target for hard drive bootable etherboot images (ie. ethdrv.zhd or something)? |
