I've just looked at Donald Becker's web page. There was another Natsemi 100 Mb chip (not the 8381x) that appeared on cheap boards but that seems to have sunk without a trace. I can't think of any other PCI NICs. If you're looking for new frontiers there are the gigabit Ethernet boards, don't know which ones are widespread other than the Intel e1000. Then of course there are the wireless NICs which are very popular. |
