Can you tell where it fails?  Is it in the probe or later?

I thought that too a year or so ago.  I now have 2 drivers under my belt
(almost).  Necessity is the mother of invention.  Of course, you
probably don't have a year to wait.

I've never owned an Intel card (I don't think the EtherExpress 16 counts
as a NIC) and I don't have any gigabit equipment so I am out of the
picture
