Does anyone have any ideas > how to solve this? Is it a etherboot problem at all? The problem appears to be that auto-negotiation is not working at 1000mbit. Either this is a bug in how etherboot drives the card, (I haven't tested that combination) or it is a bug in the switch? Does it that card and switch combination work in Linux? (If you boot from disk?) If so there is a way to get it working. > > - Tried 5.0.7 and 5.0.6 > - E1000 is a copper gigabit card; I assume we must use e1000-cop > - we tried a 3com 4924 switch and a 3com superstack 3 switch > > > I read somewhere that it is possible that during phase2/phase3 the eepro's > MAC address can be pushed onto the e1000 (??) can this be a reason for our > problems? ???? I don't have the context to interpet the above. phas2/phase3? Eric |
