As described in the problem report of Yedidyah Bar-David, DHCP request is not working, and the first DHCP request is done in Etherboot, before GRUB can be loaded. I often see the described effect, when the interrupt is not working, but etherboot does not use interrupts ... But IMO it is a problem special to this one board. Check the BIOS setup, PCI settings, etc, etc.....
