My wife and I had a nice long weekend in Arlington Texas, and are now heading back to Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was actually very relaxing to be away, and the quiet early mornings proved ideal for some hacking and cleanup work on Etherboot and updating rom-o-matic.net. I'm refreshed and excited to get back, and look forward to some of the projects we have in the queue. Etherboot is growing like a tree, with interesting new leaves and branches. It's quite delightful to see all the new ways people are utilizing the technology. I think the PXE stuff is great because it allows people who might now have been able to try Etherboot easily to load it using built-in BIOS or (in the case of eepro100/3C905c-TXM or eepro100 cards) built-in flash ROM. I hope we can soon figure out how to also make .lzpxe images work for more options. I'm already thinking of ways to improve on the January LinuxWorld Expo (report at http://www.thinguin.org/linuxworldny2001/). Any ideas, suggestions, or offers of assistance are welcome. It will be nice to finally meet Ken and Markus :-) Anyway, it's nice to be associated with a project that people seem to find useful, and it's fun to work with motivated, creative and talented people.
