Right now with linuxBIOS we are actively working out what is a good bootloader solutions. With at least 512KB of ROM we can use the linux kernel and that works well. On systems with smaller ROMS we are looking at building a small bootloader that can run without BIOS support. Etherboot keeps showing up in the prototypes. Assuming that a clean approach can be found to use etherboot in linuxBIOS. Would you be willing for etherboot to go in that direction? The expectation here is that the linuxBIOS developers would contribute the code to work with linuxBIOS. On the etherboot side, for the boards supported by linuxBIOS this neatly solves the problem of how to add etherboot to the boards BIOS.. Ken, Marty, and company, if you have major objections to going this route I'm going to kill this idea. Reusing someone elses drivers is not a solution maintainable long term. Eric |
