My intention was simply to avoid downloading a 6-7MB package (GNU gzip'd
tars) when all I needed was a 200KB binary. No, not because I'm lazy - my
Linux box is currently running 89% full.  Time for a hard drive upgrade, but
I was hoping to put _that_ off until my favourite distro (slackware) rolls a
2.4.x kernel.
