My gut feeling is, that once all of the assembly code has been ported, the C code is not too bad. Some features will probably have to be turned off for the initial port, but the general concept should work. I'd very much like to know though, which problems do come up if anybody attempts this. I would certainly allocate a good chunk of time to tackle this problem. The devil (as always) is in the details.
