Hi Rene! I have already faced this problem. Well, here comes a little of my experience working with stateless machines: - I think you should try one of the cannonical cluster configurations, like Beowulf. - If you would like to try a thick-client, a kind of a diskless machine, it would be usefull start reading an old but interesting how-to provided by DNA Lounge: http://www.dnalounge.com/backstage/src/kiosk - Another way to work with diskless macbines is building thin-clients. Some interesting explanations could be found here: http://www.ltsp.org . This is a nice linux distro that allows you setup thin-clients in a simple way.
