I did some work on the via-rhine driver recently that is only in the cvs
(i.e. it has not been issued in a release yet). In addition, we have had
some luck in dealing with via directly and they have submitted patches and
suggestions so if there is a problem it is likely that it can be fixed.
However, can't guarantee success.

That's a concept! ;-) When I bought my last motherboard I was specifically
looking for NICs that were unsupported. As a result we now support the
nvidia nForce nics...=20
